Dubai Visa, Immigration & Labour — Everything in One Place
One page for the three things every Dubai resident deals with: visas, immigration paperwork and work. The DXB Talk tools, the official government doors, and the guides that explain it all — nothing here replaces the official portals, and every official link below goes to the real government site.
🛠️ Visa Tools
Start with the tool that matches your question — each one is free and takes a minute.
🏛️ Immigration — The Official Doors
Two authorities run UAE immigration. Dubai-issued visas sit with the GDRFA (General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs — Dubai); every other emirate sits with the federal ICP (Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security). Use the door that issued your visa:
The overstay fine: the ICP has standardised overstaying fines across the UAE — visit, tourist and residence visa overstays are charged at AED 50 per day (the UAE Government portal, u.ae, states the standardised rate). Check and pay any fine on your own file through the ICP or GDRFA services above — the amount on your record is the one that counts.

👷 Labour — Work, Pay & Your Rights
The money tools first, then the law in brief:
UAE Labour Law essentials (private sector, Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 — the UAE Labour Law, per the UAE Government portal u.ae):
- Annual leave: 30 days of fully paid annual leave once you complete one year of service; if your service is more than six months but less than a year, 2 days for each month worked. (u.ae, "Types of leaves")
- End of service: after at least one year of continuous service, gratuity is 21 days' basic salary for each of the first five years and 30 days' basic salary for each year after that, capped at two years' total wage; your employer must pay all dues within 14 days of the contract ending. (u.ae, "End of service benefits")
- Working time: the Labour Law sets the normal working hours and overtime rules for the private sector — during Ramadan, normal working hours are reduced by two hours a day. (Federal Decree-Law 33/2021, via u.ae)
A problem at work? Labour complaints go to MOHRE (the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation): MOHRE examines the complaint and tries to settle it amicably, or refers it to the courts. File or track a complaint on mohre.gov.ae or in the MOHRE app, and for free legal guidance call MOHRE's Labour Claims and Advisory Call Centre on 80084 (toll-free, per u.ae).
