Two venues — do not mix them up
Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) is the original venue on Sheikh Zayed Road, at the World Trade Centre Metro station. Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) is the newer mega-venue at Expo City Dubai, served by the Expo 2020 Metro station. GITEX uses both (summit at DWTC, expo at DEC) — check your pass before you travel.
Getting there
- Metro: Red Line to World Trade Centre station for DWTC; the station opens straight into the venue. For DEC, ride the Route 2020 branch to Expo 2020 station.
- Parking: paid parking at DWTC is limited during mega-shows — book ahead where the event offers it, or use park-and-ride with the free shuttle buses the big shows lay on.
- Taxis and ride-hailing: expect peak pricing around opening and closing hours of Big 5 and GITEX; the Metro is usually faster.
